Seriously though, last weekend was great. Well, not last weekend as in yesterday....last weekend as in the weekend before this last weekend. Super insanely crazy busy, but great! =)
It started off with my cousin's wedding. Even though my husband had to work all weekend, I was determined to go. Fortunately, my parents offered to let Monkey and I tag along. And let me tell you...they spoiled us! Beautiful hotel room, yummy meals, plus nothing could top Monkey's one-on-one grandparent time (definately made up for daddy not being there)!
Here's us on the roadtrip:
Monkey enjoying his sample smoothie from McDonald's
We, of course...had to make a stop at Cabela's. Monkey and I have never been there and it happens to be Grandpa's favorite store. It came along at the perfect time for a potty break too. (Hubs was definately not disappointed to miss this, lol)
One-on-one with Grandpa and Grandma
Monkey was a leeettle obsessed with the plane!
Heather's wedding was beautiful! SO glad I didn't miss it! Heather and I are three months apart in age so we grew up at each others house every week. Although our moms were like sisters, they practically raised US as sisters. We were best of friends...and even got the opportunity to cheer side-by-side for two years in high school! Now living in two separate cities and in two completely different stages in life, we aren't as close as we once were...but still whenever we get together and chat its like we haven't missed a day. Congratulations Heather! I couldn't be happier for you! (Well...unless maybe I had some more of that taffy... ;)
Beautiful moment lighting the Unity Candle
Sisters at heart! (My crazy hair is kind of hiding Monkey though...)
The next day started off with a splash...in the pool! The intent was for Monkey to have some play time with Grandpa...but something made him cry. Not sure if it was the pool or Grandpa, but regardless he was NOT into it. We finally let him get in at his own pace (which wasn't past the second step) but he had fun splashing my younger cousins and laughing.
We had the whole day to burn (no pun intended, but seriously BURN...in the sun!) so we headed to the Oregon Coast. But before making the drive, we stopped off at my brother and sister (in-law's) house. I got to hold my Ethiopian niece for the first time (as you may have noticed in my last post). But here is the beauty with her pretty mama!
My nephew, Levi, is only 3 weeks older than Monkey. Grandma had fun playing with the boys...and we were cracking up at their unintentional matching shirts! ;)
On to the beach - only an hour and a half drive...but with a broken DVD player, it felt a lot longer with Monkey. Fortunately is was the perfect opportunity for a snooze ('cuz adults are boring you know!)...
How cute is that?!?
The beach was a blast, despite the frigid winds. Monkey had to stay in jeans and a long sleeved shirt and I kept my sweater on! Grandma braved the bathing suit, but I was determined to stay warm!
The sand man!
Grandpa and Grandma bought Monks that cute Cannon Beach sweatshirt!
Our only snag that night was the traffic on the way home. That hour and a half turned into three, and poor Monks was SO uncomfortable in his carseat. We got back to the hotel very late, but he was a trooper.
Thankfully we still got a great night sleep, but we were up early to head to my nieces baptism. It was such a sweet moment. And doesn't she just look beautiful????

Overall a pretty great weekend, wouldn't you say?!? Now just wait until I share with you this last weekend (including yesterday)! Stay tuned! =)
