Playing Catch-Up

I was going to wait to do our Easter post until I had all our pictures (our camera's battery died in the middle of the egg hunt so I asked my father-in-law to get the rest of the photos for me, but our track record on exchanging things like photos is not so great!!) but I figure that could be a while (and MOM, that is nothing against you!!!) so I might as well post what I've got!

We spent our rare Easter off visiting family up north.  It was a HUGE bonus that great-grandma was in town (visiting from Cali) and got to see how much our little Monkey has grown!  For the first time in a long time most of us were all together (Hub's younger brother was missing, still at college - that punk! ;).  It's not often we get to see both grandbabies playing together....and this was the FIRST time they did so without fighting or crying!!!  It's amazing how much they can change in a matter of weeks!  It was pretty much constant giggles from those two, which made time there just that much MORE enjoyable!

For Easter Sunday, my father-in-law cooked up a storm - a HUGE and delicious turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, corn, beans, asparagus...and I'm sure other things but that's all I can remember right now!  YUM!!!  At one point I had said that I didn't even remember being that full on THANKSGIVING!!!  And then I remembered!!!  I was home with a sick kid on Thanksgiving and didn't even GET a turkey dinner....so DUH!!! =D  THANK you dad, it was an AMAZING meal!!!!

Right at the end of dinner, our nephew woke up from his nap and it was about time for Monkey to have his...so we took advantage of the rare moment these two boys on opposite schedules are awake at the same moment (PHEW that was a mouthful =) and head outside for the Easter egg hunt!!!  Grandpa and Hubs "hid" all the eggs (or...you know...threw handfuls at a time in the grass) while we got on shoes and hats (they had to look all adorable!!).  The kids impatiently waited by the door (our nephew did pretty awesome really, it was our SON who helped STUFF the eggs who couldn't wait to get his hands on the goods) until it was time - Grandpa gave the okay and OUT they went!!!

AND....that's where the camera died.  I promise we DID get a family photo....one of these weeks I promise to randomly squeeze it at the end of a post =)  Just remind me if I get flaky and forget again, okay?  Pregnancy brain...remember?  ;)  Hahaha!!!

After that we played on the floor with the goodies....it was a WONDERFUL day!!!  So glad we were able to spend some much-needed time with family before our big trip =)

P.S. Today marks ONE YEAR to the DAY that I started this blog!!  I was blogging years before that but on a private site.  I can't believe that one short year later I have all 122 of you as followers and friends!  I feel so blessed!  Click HERE to read my first ever post as the Domesticated Diva!!!! =D

Thanks for stopping by our blog! We've had so much going on the past month and a half or so that I've gotten way behind on blog and facebook reading and terribly out of the loop. Trying to get plugged in again and so much exciting stuff is happening! You're leaving for ETHIOPIA in TWO WEEKS!?!?!? To meet your precious DAUGHTER!?!?!? That is HUGE news and I'm so happy to read it! So excited for you and hope I'm able to log onto the computer more often and continue to follow your journey! This is the BEST part! xoxo
