A Little Pick-Me-Up

There's a lot going on behind the scenes right now in our household, so if you're wondering why I'm quieter {than usual} that's why.  I'm still processing all that's going on, and not quite sure how much I'm willing to share publicly.  Stick with me though....because I know that after the storm is when the JOY completely consumes me!  =)

AS a little pick-me-up though, I decided to throw myself into a little crafting!  I was inspired by browsing through Jen's post over at Tatortots & Jello and decided to combine my favorites and I came up with THIS:

I LOVE it!  It's exactly what I needed to add a little festivity into my living room {as if an 8 foot tree and my faux-mantle didn't do the trick, right!?!} and put a smile on my face.  Here's how I did it...

1. I started with a straw wreath (the kind wrapped in plastic
and starts shedding all over your carpet....make sure to
vacuum AFTER...not before =)...
2. Hot-glued strips (about 4 inches wide) of burlap around...
3. Made a bunch of rosette-y prettiness in different sizes/colors/patterns...
4. Decided on the layout and glued them into place...
5. Decided I needed MORE flowers...made and glued those...
6. Added the purty touches of rhinestones (I like a little SPARKLE!)...
7. Add a big fat bow...
8. Re-do bow 700 times until you realize its 1am and who frickin' cares anymore...
9. ...oh yeah....and add a random "Family Matters" sign that you found in your stash...
10. Hang & TA-DA!!!!!

Me likey.  Do you???  I showed you mine, now you show me yours =)  Link up so I can see YOUR fun Christmas wreaths!!!  C'mon...you know it will be fun!  My FIRST EVER & very spontaneous linky party!!!

Praying for you. I went through a storm this summer and early fall that really knocked me off my keaster. Maybe it will be a full week of referrals and we will all get a little pick me up?
