8 Months Old!!!

Eight months...alREADY?!?  Where has the time gone?  I was kinda hoping time would speed up until we could get our little diva home and then REALLY. SLOW. DOWN.  But it hasn't.

I also kinda expected to have caught up on my travel journals and such by now...but obviously that hasn't happened either.  Sometimes life gets in the way.  And this time...life is getting in the way in the best possible way.  I love my life! =)

But I still had to pop and and celebrate the moment that almost passed me by - my baby girl turned 8 months old!!!  So what has changed in the last month?  A lot!

• Our little lady has figured out how to sit all on her own - and is quite proud of herself for it!
• And she may not know how to crawl yet...but ARMY CRAWL she does well!  She gets to where she wants to go for now...although I'm sensing some frustration in the last few days as well as a lot of knee rocking...so this semi-immobile baby is about to make mama's life very hectic once again! =)
• She has gone from the 16% to the 28% in just 6 weeks - praise GOD!  She is a whopping 16 pounds, 10 ounces.  But don't let the pictures fool you though('cause they WILL)...she is still just a TINY thing.  3 month clothes are still our staple...just with some chubs! =)
• She is a genuinely happy baby and literally EVERYONE asks me if she is always this way.  In one simple word - YES!  We are thrilled that God has blessed us with such a happy-go-lucky child.  She is a true blessing and a gift in every sense of the word!  The only screams we hear out of this one is when food is not coming fast enough...making her fit into the family QUITE well =)
• Sleeping has improved - she is now waking only 2-3 times a night.  Longer stretches of sleep make for a happier mama too!  Or maybe just less zombie-like =)
• Naps actually exist now, although still inconsistent.  No complaints there though....just coffee needed more on some days than on others! =)
• Her laughter is AMAZING!  We thought she was a happy baby back in May when we first met her...but it doesn't even COMPARE to the little personality that has bubbled out of this baby now that she has been given a home and a family!  It is INCREDIBLE to watch!
• The interactions with big brother are both entertaining and headache inducing! =)  We have reached the point that that literally squeal and scream back and forth in the car!  Our monkey man will listen if we really need it to stop...but really, it just fills our hearts with JOY to see their bond and love for one another!
