Changes Brewing

I feel like I'm on the verge of some significant changes in several areas my life.  Maybe change is becoming addicting...or maybe its just coincidence, but I feel that it's time to change the direction of my blog as well.

Don't worry, the name is staying...but until now the content of my blog has really lacked any focus or direction.  As much fun as it has been to use this as our family yearbook, so to speak, I have come to a point in my life where I simply don't have time to do that anymore.  Nor do I feel completely comfortable being a completely open book online.

This will probably be a gradual change (as with most things in my life), but please be patient as I make some changes to my blog!

Just wanted to clue you all in so you aren't wondering if I've disappeared again!  =)  And yes, the Nashville pics ARE coming...there's just a lot to edit =)

The Ever Growing Reading Stack

I've never been a huge reader.  In grade school my mom used to have to reward me for reading "for fun" because it really wasn't my thing.  I didn't want to read someone else's ideas...I wanted to create my own little world and my own reality by playing dolls, barbies, well...anything but reading.

Now that its on my own time and of my own free will, I enjoy reading a lot more.  Which is funny to me because I have less time than before.  But when the day to day grind of life can get a little chaotic at times, it is absolutely wonderful and even therapeutic to escape into another world through a book.

In my nightstand I currently have two books I'm in the midst of reading. "Safe Haven" by Nicholas Sparks (which I recently saw in theaters with my BFF and promptly borrowed the book from her) and "Kisses For Katie" by Katie Davis.  Both have my full attention and intrigue.  Both completely different.

But even more vastly different is my ever-growing list of books I have YET to read!  Some I have read before but my brain needs a refreshing.  Some have movies coming out.  Some are movies I've already seen.  Some just plain caught my attention and I can't wait to delve in.

So tell me, what books top your list?

Phew!!

It's been a loooong time since I've posted!  I guess I've been a little busy!  Instagram or Facebook followers may have noticed some sneak peeks at what I've been up to, but if you haven't...I'll let you in on the secret.  We were on VACATION!!!  Well...as much of a vacation as you can have with a two and four year old, right?  ;)

I can't say I'm entirely happy to be back.  I mean, we were enjoying beautiful 80 degree days and now we're back to gray and rainy.  BUT, it is good to be in our own home and our own beds and cooking some good 'ole homemade food rather than eating out all the time (our tummies are still paying for that).

So I have a couple thousand loads of laundry to catch up on as well as fending for a sick kid (yay for plane germs) but I'm hoping to get some pictures up here soon, so stay tuned friends!

He is Risen!!!

A very belated Happy Easter to all my lovely readers out there!

I hope you had a wonderful holiday weekend celebrating the resurrection of our Lord and Savior!!  I won't bore you with all the details of our quiet and restful weekend, (Although there is nothing boring about the FEAST we enjoyed at our friends' house on Easter Sunday! A lovely meal complete with ham, mashed potatoes and gravy, sweet potatoes with a heavenly marshmallow topping, asparagus, salad, deviled eggs, and rolls.  Oh.  My.  Word.  Our bellies were so full and joyful.) but I couldn't resist sharing some pictures.  When the sun is out, I just can't help myself! ;)

My heart (and belly) is full and I am so grateful that the Lord thought I was worthy of such a sacrifice.  Thank you Lord!!!  You have blessed me far beyond what I deserve.
